Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What is 3D printing?

Answer:
3D printing is a way to make things by building them layer by layer. Instead of cutting or shaping an object from a big piece, a 3D printer creates objects from the ground up, kind of like stacking pancakes to make a big tower! We use special materials like plastic to print these layers.

2. What are these lines that I see on my 3D printed order?

Answer:
Those lines are called layer lines, and they happen because a 3D printer builds your item one thin layer at a time. It’s kind of like stacking sheets of paper to make a tall object—each sheet adds a small line. These lines are normal for 3D-printed items and don’t affect how they work. They just show that your item was made in a special, custom way that’s different from things you’d find in big stores!

3. Why do 3D-printed items sometimes look different from things I buy at big stores?

Answer:
Most things you buy at big stores are made using machines that can make thousands of the same item very quickly and smoothly. These items often have a shiny, perfect finish because they’re mass-produced. 3D printing is different because each object is made layer by layer, which can leave visible lines. But with 3D printing, you can create super-unique, custom items that are hard to find in stores!

4. How long does it take to 3D print something?

Answer:
The time it takes depends on how big and detailed the object is. A small item could take just a couple of hours, but a larger or more detailed one could take an entire day or more! We always try to be as quick as possible while making sure your item is high quality.

5. What materials do you use to 3D print?

Answer:
We mostly use a type of plastic called PLA (Polylactic Acid), which is great for 3D printing because it’s strong, lightweight, and eco-friendly! PLA comes in all sorts of colors too, so we can make your items look exactly how you want them. For items that will be used outdoors or exposed to the sun, we use PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) or ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate), which are more resistant to heat and weather, making them great for outside conditions.

6. Can I order a custom 3D print?

Answer:
Yes, you can! We love making custom designs. If you want something special, just let us know. Keep in mind, custom orders may take extra time to process, and we’ll let you know more details in the product description. If you have any questions about your order, feel free to email us at sales@galaxy3dworks.shop.

7. How durable are 3D-printed objects?

Answer:
3D-printed objects are strong, but how tough they are depends on the material used and the design. Some items are sturdy enough to use every day, while others are more delicate and better for display. If you’re unsure about the durability of something, feel free to ask!

8. Do you ship worldwide?

Answer:
Right now, we only ship within the United States. If you're outside the U.S. and really want something, send us an email at sales@galaxy3dworks.shop, and we'll see what we can do!

9. How can I take care of my 3D-printed items?

Answer:
To keep your 3D-printed items in good shape, try to avoid dropping them or leaving them in very hot places (like in a car on a sunny day). Some materials can melt if they get too hot!

10. Are 3D-printed items durable enough to be used outside or in the sun?

Answer:
Yes, but it depends on the material. For objects that will be used outside or in direct sunlight, we use materials like PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) or ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate). These materials are more resistant to heat, UV light, and weather, making them perfect for outdoor use. PLA, which we use for most items, can get soft if it's left in the sun for too long, so we recommend PETG or ASA for anything that needs to handle outdoor conditions.
